When I was younger and taking unsteady steps on the path toward professional music, I had plenty of people around me who had plenty of opinions. When it came to the topic of selecting an instrument, though, I felt like I was in an information desert. How do I decide? What does it mean to have a dark or a bright sound? How important is the bow? How much money do I spend? While my teachers were able to provide opinions on what they did or didn’t like, I wish I had a guide who could really help me sort through some of those questions from the very start.
Then came the unseen part of making a career in music. Should I teach? How much? How can I get better at auditioning? How do I change jobs? Depending on who I asked, the advice could be anything from “Change careers” to “stop doing anything else except practicing.”
That’s why I started Sound Ally; so that you don’t have to go through the same experience. I’m here to guide you through your next steps when choosing an instrument or choosing the next step on your path. To give guidance and help you think through your options. And ultimately, to be your advocate—your ally. Don’t go it alone! Shoot me a message right now while it’s on your mind, and learn more about what we can do together.
